This work was created at the Burren College of Art, Ballyvaughan, County Clare, Ireland. With the lockdown due to COVID, much of this work was created in a quiet kitchen.

This work was started at a one month winter residency at Jentel Artist Residency, outside of Sheridan, Wyoming. The references to landscape and human responses to land, natural events and attempts to control environments inform the prints and drawings.

Examining Etruscan bronze figures and critically endangered plants to comment on the difference between species of least concern versus species with only 4 left in situ.

Work was started at the Art Print Residence, Arenys de Munt in Spain. The plates were cut to fit suitcase and reassembled upon returning to Denver.

Work was exhibited in 2016 in Barcelona. Art Print Residence Exhibition, Iluro Foundation, Art Print Residence. Barcelona, Spain. The exhibition space is in the city center of Mataró. Group exhibition of works from Art Print Residence artists created during 2014 / 2015.

Creative technical research in lithography, using gum arabic washes as a reversal process. The subject, the Tahina Palm is a critically endangered plant, flowering only once in its lifetime. It is estimated there are 30 Tahina Palms left in Madagascar.

The structure of the mazes were created in Sketch Up, then redrawn to mimic the stacked dry stone walls of Ireland. The imagined compositions invoke boundaries, and labyrinths.

Imaginary landscapes replacing human battle sites with stumps. Gettysburg, McPhearson’s Woods, Ucello’s Battle of San Romano, and other human clashes change meaning when replaced with trees. Sometimes humorous, other times hinting at invisible battles.
